BIO

Straun Wagner is a figurative, portrait and landscape painter who is currently living and working in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He is relatively new to the art world, and it wasn't until 2012, while studying environmental science at the University of Central Florida, that Straun picked up a paint brush for the first time. He is mostly self taught, but in recent years has studied under such artists as Carl Dobsky, Steve Forster, and Thomas Fluharty. His work is rooted in a traditional foundation while also incorporating elements of contemporary style. Straun is inspired by science, politics, and the relationship between man and nature. He has exhibited his work at The Hub in New Smyrna Beach as well as various art shows throughout the state.
